A wave of fresh rail strikes have been announced for December. Rail workers are already set to strike on December 13, December 14, December 16 and December 17.
And now train workers will walkout again amid the long-running dispute over pay, jobs and conditions. Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) will walk out from 6pm on Christmas Eve until 6am on December 27 and will press ahead with two 48-hour strikes next week.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said it was unfortunate that the union had been “compelled to take this action due to the continuing intransigence of the employers”.
