Unai Emery has responded to the growing reports that Denis Suarez is closing in on a loan move to Arsenal (via Arsenal.com).
It’s a transfer which has taken some time to work out but it now looks like just a matter of time until Denis Suarez joins Arsenal.
The Gunners have reportedly reached an agreement with the player’s club, FC Barcelona which will see Suarez join on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.
The BBC’s David Ornstein has reiterated this story claiming that Arsenal are close to the deal. Now, head coach Unai Emery has responded to these reports.
“I’ve not spoken with anyone at the club who is working on that. Maybe tonight or tomorrow, I will speak about the latest news,” Emery said after last night’s 2-1 win over Cardiff City.
“My idea is the same: if we can sign one player to help us, it’s good for us.
“Generally speaking, we need wingers and if you have a player like Denis, I know him because he played for me at Sevilla. His quality is this.
“If he can come, it’s a challenge for him and it’s also to help us.”
It now looks like just a matter of time until Denis Suarez’s transfer to Arsenal is confirmed. The Spaniard should be a solid addition to the squad, especially so considering it’s a loan move with an option to buy.
