Good news for Mourinho in his chase for a commanding centre-back

Manchester United target and Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly has intimated he could potentially leave the fraternity in the future, acknowledging he’ll bawling a lot when it happens.

The commanding centre-back has emerged as a top target for many of Europe’s top clubs and Jose Mourinho is also said to be keen on signing him.

The Senegalese is sees as the ideal nominee due to his proven track record and leadership, which is something United have missed for a few seasons now.

Koulibaly was previously thought of as untouchable with the Italian side eager to hold onto their best stars.

However, with his latest statements, Mourinho and the Red Devils may feel they have a chance in securing his signature, whether it’s during the upcoming carry window or next summer.

According to the Daily Star, Kalidou said to Corrielle dello Sport:” My agent maintenances telling me:’ You cry twice in Naples, when you arrive and when you leave.’

” I always respond:’ I didn’t holler when I arrived but I will weep a lot the working day that I will leave .”

Koulibaly could’ve been talking about his long term future or even when he potentially retires but the timing of his comments appears to be he hopes to be picked up by one of Europe’s best.

Napoli are notoriously tough diplomats and it’s likely that the delivery fee would be higher than what the Manchester United board are willing to pay.

The club’s proprietors previously baulked at the PS75m price-tag set on Toby Alderweireld’ s head last-place summer and this potentially won’t be any different.
