Earlier this week, the Hallmark Channel drew four ads<\/a> for wedding website Zola because they featured a same-sex couple, deflecting to pressure from conservative group One Million Mommies. Now it seems Hallmark is bending back the other way, pledging to reinstate the blushing brides after widespread backlash.<\/p>\n

A Hallmark Channel spokesperson initially told the New York Times<\/a> the ads’ removal was due to a company policy “not to air overt public displays of affection in our sponsored circular, regardless of the participants.” <\/p>\n

However, Zola disputed this claim.<\/p>\n

“The only difference between the commercials “thats been” pennant and the ones that were approved was that the commercial-grades that did not gratify Hallmark’s standards included a lesbian couple kissing, ” Zola’s chief marketing officer Mike Chi told the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. “Hallmark approved a commercial where a heterosexual pair kissed.” Read more …<\/a><\/p>\n
