We told you that the new Y35 digiFilm concept was receiving less than rave evaluations from benefactors of the Kickstarter project<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now they’re taking to their airwaves to let their grudges be known- and it isn’t somewhat<\/a>.<\/p>\n A much hyped resurrection of the storied Japanese optical brand, the Yashica Y3 5 digiFilm project, at the least initially, offered a lot of promise.<\/p>\n Sure, the analog film rolling simulation aspect “ve been a little” awkward and no one was really clear on who the camera was being targeted towards in the end, but hopes remained high.<\/p>\n Right until the Y35 arrived in stores. <\/p>\n First arriving in boutique Hong Kong stores, the Yashica Y3 5 was described by many as being “shockingly” cheap mood and akin to a toy camera.<\/p>\n This was especially surprising since the camera is not going to be cheap when it is released to the general public.<\/p>\n The main pride of the Y35 are the digiFilm rollers which promised to give customers a different looking with each rolling as well as simulate the manual switching out of movie rollers. This abstraction has largely fallen flat with customers and, when combined with the general consensus that the Y35 is not what it should have been, the whole thing is just a mess.<\/p>\n Flimsy build quality isn’t the only thing holding back the Y35 but also general mismanagement. In his video on YouTube, Point& Shoot Club<\/a> even shows how the included USB cable that comes with the camera doesn’t even fit the camera which requires a mini-USB cable. How’s that for a shambolic launching? <\/p>\n A lot of the disillusion stems from the facts of the case that Yashica is a reasonably storied brand. It’s sad to see it going down like this<\/a>, especially given the exuberance behind the Kickstarter project.
